Problem with command screen

Wonder if you have a loose connection somewhere. This reminds me of when a graphics cable isn’t fully inserted on a PC, for example.
Have you tried forcing a reboot of COMAND (hold down the power button next to the centre controller)?

Restart COMAND was my thought as best no-cost first step also, although I do admit I did not know how to do so. Might there be any point in exploring "secret" dealer/engineering menus, before spending money. If so, proceed with caution.

You can soft reset/reboot the system by holding down the power button beside the centre controller.
If that doesn’t work you might need to see a dealer or specialist to see what is up with it.
Word of warning… do not touch any engineering/dealer menus, you’re asking for trouble touching those. Especially the reset option in the dealer menu- stay away from it. It will clear all the coding and break the car resulting in a costly exercise to recode everything with the dealer.
