How to check version of your Command System? What is the current version?

I just had my Navigation updated at my dealer in my early 2018 E300 and the software version is 01.70.01.00. The nav was updated from V6.0 to V13.0.

I am thinking I need to have them update the COMAND to 4.77 before I can unlock V14-16. I'll go back in 6 months and see if I can have both carried out to the latest.

I have Map Version 14 and do not have COMAND 4.77 yet.

I made a mistake and posted this in the wrong thread. If you have 3.75 or 3.76 then that would be why you can get V14. Because I am still on original comand software (01.70) I believe V13.0 is newest I can receive.

We should honestly close this thread and keep the other one active.

Apparently my dealer has been lying to me for months. I have problems with Comand, it's slow, Apple CarPlay often crashes, buttons don't respond as they should etc. I asked them to update 4 times and they said it's already done and there are no pending updates for my car. Thanks to this post, I found in dealer settings that my software is 0.61. Is that the oldest/original version for 2017 w213? Are they required to upgrade for free? I even had a service where I paid €390 ($435) 10 days ago, but they did nothing about software. Can they update straight from 0.61 to 4.77 or do they need to first complete the updates in between?

They upgraded me to 4.77 for free when I said I had a problem with Android Auto navigation. It fixed the problem. They should be able to go directly to 4.77.

the original FW is indeed terribly slow. tell them your system keeps hanging & they'll have to upgrade under warranty. - the difference is huge.

The 2020 E53 Coupe dealer order guide lists “Emotion Start” as a new feature. Holding the left shift paddle while starting the car gives a “sporty start.” After updating my COMAND to version 4.80, I tried the “Emotion Start” and it worked on my 2019 E53. The start is a little louder with a few burbles. It’s not obnoxious, just a little sportier. I never tried it before the update so, I really don’t know if it was added with the update or if it was always there but not publicized.

Finally updated to 4.80 from 0.61 after complaining to the service manager. I'm mad at them for having me drive the car without update for half a year, even though I asked them a few times. It made such a difference to the car. The responsiveness and slightly sharper graphics is a huge plus but there are a few more things:

• I noticed that Volume Amplification in Sound Settings is gone after the update, it used to make a difference to the sound. Since it's not there anymore, I assume it's enabled all the time now?
• There's no play/pause in Media anymore. Mute/Unmute is actually Play/Pause when playing via Bluetooth.
• They still didn't fix the Bluetooth audio delay. I wonder if it's a hardware issue.
• I don't know if it's really a result of the update, but my steering improved after the update. Dealer didn't tell me about having done anything, and I doubt they would do something additional to the steering for free without me complaining, but before the update it felt loose and wanting to steer left when I let go. When I picked up the car after the update, I felt immediately that the steering was tighter and more responsive, even in Eco mode.
• All my settings were reset. It'll take a while now for my wife and I to find our perfect seating positions again. I wish they told it before the update. All presets and locations are gone as well.

You should save your profile(s). All settings are stored in the cloud, and simply selecting your profile will reload all of them. Very convenient when an update resets things.

I had two profiles saved. It would be great to restore them. I'll check today. Do I need to do it in the car's menu? Or on Mercedes me?

I have comand version 02.71 , dealer say you don't need any updates. Please advice should dealer do such update free of charge (car is under warranty) and how to force a dealer to do it ? is 02.71 very old version ?

Tell the dealer that your navigation system keeps freezing up and you want it fixed.

Hi, new MB owner here (2017 E400 Wagon) in Canada, just took delivery and loving it so far. I've read through this thread and am trying to figure out what the latest version of COMAND is for my car, as I assume the various version numbers I've seen here are not consistent across models/years/countries. I'm currently running 00.58.xxx and I've scheduled a service appointment for next Wednesday to fix a GPS that thinks I'm in southern New York, and I want to ask them to update me to the latest COMAND and maps while it's there.

My Googling in this forum and on the web is failing me, so I apologize if this is easily found somewhere, but if someone can point me to the latest version of COMAND and maps for my specific car I'd appreciate it. I'd like to go into the dealer fully informed and prepared to push back when they tell me updates aren't available.

My ambient light turns red when I increase temperature, and blue when I decrease. This just started happening and I found out I have automatic updates turned on. Anyone else getting this? What other new things came with the update?

My car is E350e German spec, currently sitting at v2.71.09.00
Map version 2021 (v20.0) Europe

I'm going for service A next December. I will ask them to update the COMAND but does anyone know what is the current COMAND version for W213 specifically for model year 2018 ?

The “climate” setting of the ambient lighting as you describe has been available in my 2019 E53 since delivery in late 2018.

That is an original feature of my '18 E300. I've always had it. Perhaps you are just noticing it.
