Steering vibration driving me crazy!
Hi all, at wits end. Mine is a 2022 e220, done <40k km. it has this steering vibration especially when I brake slowly. The service centre has changed the rear tyres, front and back brake pads and discs but the issue still persists. When I escalated the issue, the senior fellas tested and examined the car but found nothing wrong. What cheesed me off was they saying it’s a characteristic of the car!
Any idea what else could be off. Much appreciated.

2018 E400 4matic Wagon
I haven't found any vibration on my 2018 E400. I noticed missing from your long list of things that have been done is re-balacing the wheels. You might want to have all four of your wheels balanced on a road-force balancing machine like the Hunter 9700. I'm surprised that your dealer hasn't mentioned wheel balancing as a potential cause. One more thing I thought of -- on a BMW that I had, there was a vibration problem over 55 mph and I had the drive shaft removed and balanced. That didn't solve the problem, and the problem never went away. I think if I had had all four wheels balanced again, that might have solved the problem. I lived with the problem until I sold the car.

How old are your "new" discs ?
What type of disks... solid/vented/carbon ?
Who serviced these parts... MB specialist?
Anyone diagnosed free-play ?
What's the car history ownership/service ???
I am going to assume, your problem started BEFORE recent brake service, right?
---> CHECK THESE ITEMS:
- Clean disks must lay flat on clean hubs...
- Clean rims must lay flat on clean disks...
- Loose front bearings freeplay...
- Loose steering tie-rods...
- Loose control arms ball-joints...
- [warped rims? (rotate F>B)]
- dry sliding pins on floating calipers
- air behind pistons on fixed calipers
Report findings.
