2018 E300
No Touchscreen in 2018 E300?
All I read online says this year and model has a touchscreen. But the one I just bought does not seem to. Is that normal/possible? Or could it be deactivated somehow?

There are display only screens, but not touchscreens. The model came with either one or two 12.3" screens. The two screen version is combined behind a single glass combining the instruments and entertainment screens. I have the optional 2 screen version.

Thanks! Do you know if there is an upgrade available to the display only screen? I have a regular instrument cluster so just the one screen. Thanks again!

With all the grammar mistakes and typos in my earlier post, its no wonder the censor intervened. My mother was a school teacher. She would be horrified.

Correct me if wrong, but didn't 2018 MY still had COMAND. Touchscreen started with MBUX, the 2021 facelift MY. Don't know what upgrade options might be available, but it would have to include upgrading infotainment system from COMAND to MBUX, and that probably involves Mercede$.

For example if you were to find a touchscreen head unit, (wrecking yard used part of brand new from your local parts department) is it directly interchangeable, and does it include MBUX software? or is that a separate module, and if so, does that require Xentry to marry to a 2018 VIN? Sounds more trouble that it's worth IMO. COMAND worked ok.

My 2018 E300 has COMAND which is not compatible with MBUX. IMO you would have to change the entire entertainment system to MBUX, a huge undertaking that may cost as much as a 2018 E300 is worth. There are 3rd party overlay touch screens for sale.

I watched a YouTube video and it stated the same, so I was a little disappointed myself but I’ll get over it. Still a bit off thought that I drive Mercedes trucks older than my car and they are touch screen 🤷♂️
