Hi all. Got an issue with one of my front axles. Looks like after 150,000 miles, my front CV axle has gone bad and needs a replacement. I went to my local MB dealership and they said the axle is $1,200 which is absolutely outrages, even for a Mercedes. There are aftermarket options online but I just don't know if I can trust the quality. Looking at RockAuto, there are a few options for my E300 4Matic. Has anyone replaced their axle's with an aftermarket option? if so, have you had any issues with them or have any better options?
I plan on doing the work my self so atleast I don't have to pay dealership service prices, but paying $1,200 for an axle kind of ridiculous.

Any input will be helpful.
Might want to stick with oem if it treated you that many miles.
That said, what are the issues you have with it? Clicking? Ticking? If it is that, you could check the boot, if I recalled correctly, certain MB models have a repair kit and you don't have to replace the whole thing.

Well, I did some research and found that it's not worth replacing the axel with an aftermarket part unless it's from GKN directly (OE supplier for Mercedes), but they're impossible to buy unless you have a retailer willing to sell you the OE part. I guess I'll have to order the one from Mercedes and sell my kidney at the same time xD
