2021 E450 Downshifting
Late last year my wife bought a 2021 E450. She says that she experiences an unwanted, hard downshift when she decelerates or gently applies the brake? Have you experienced that? Is there any reason to be concerned? How can we stop that from happening?

It could be the regenerative braking system of the mild hybrid system in your car causing the issue. In my opinion, most hybrids and EV with regenerative braking takes a while to get use to, driving habits and driving mode could also make braking systems nonlinear. I could talk to your dealer, maybe Mercedes has a software update for your issue. Good luck.

That said, I also recommend asking your dealership to perform a standstill adaptation.
