I recently brought my 2018 E400 coupe into my local dealer in the North East for a noise when driving from the front of the vehicle. Long story short it’s the front wheel bearing. The price is $3200. I’m baffled. Any ideas or thoughts. Also a $700 battery to add insult to injury.
You must look rich. I would have laughed. Im sure they're are many competent mechanics who can do the bearing for far less money, and the battery price is obviously super inflated.

Ridiculous price as I am sure you are aware - otherwise you would not have posted.

A W213 front wheel hub and bearing kit costs less than $300 at several parts stores. The removal/replacement process is quite simple (4 bolts) once the tire is removed. There are videos showing the process.
What other parts and services are included in the $3200?

More than likely the labor hours PLUS the "4 wheel alignment". They go by what WIS states for labor hours. That does not make it ok. Always check indie shop for pricing before going to dealership. My dealership price matches hence why i do that. There are time that the dealership IS infact less expensive than the indie shops.

I replaced a front hub and bearing on a W123. It took less than an hour. I had the alignment checked after the repair and it was OK - no alignment was needed..
