2017 E400 Navigation off when Using Carplay
Hi Folks,
I just got a 2017 E class wagon (S213). Beautiful car, makes my happy everytime seeing it.
However there is one issue that I cannot fix: everytime when I use Carplay for navigation (which is all the time, native navigating is ancient), the GPS is always off, typically shifting forward of the car by a few hundred yards. It becomes unbearable when driving in dense urban area like San Francisco. Both Google map and Apple map have the same issue. Has anyone here seen this issue before? What can I do about it?

With CarPlay, the phone has two options for receiving the GPS location. It can either use its own GPS receiver, or it can get the GPS location from the car's GPS receiver. The latter is optional in the CarPlay spec for wired CarPlay, but mandatory for wireless CarPlay. If you use your phone standalone in the car for navigation (not connected to CarPlay), is the GPS accurate on the phone then? Does it only become inaccurate when you connect it to the car? If it's the latter then as the next step try the built-in navigation system and see if the GPS is accurate or inaccurate. If it's also inaccurate, then you have an issue with the car's GPS antenna.
