We were supposed to have a December build date, have not checked if delayed (and our dealers don't care to give any update). Very long delivery times currently even in Germany, 14 to 16 months for the 214.

EDIT: our dealer recently confirmed the car has been built. Should arrive within about a month now. Approximately on original schedule.

Again this is a Bosch issue. It sucks but its not exactly MB's fault their supplier screwed up, it is far too late in the vehicle's production/design cycle to change battery systems.

I totally understand that but MB chose to rely on Bosch so, at the end of the day, it really is their responsibility. Bottom line is that they invested 10's of millions in the development of the W214 and now it's going to be over a year until it's readily available in the US. This is a monumental miss for them and there are doubtless thousands who will now opt for an alternative vehicle who would have happily purchased the MB. BMW and Audi seem to have been able to get their cars to market when promised. M-B has not and that's going to cost them massively.

When I was an auditor 30 years ago, our program required plants to have 2 independent sources of supply for all key inputs to a product. Then along came the MBA consulting idiots who said to consolidate your vendors to get better prices. We've all seen how well that works during COVID and here. MB hasn't figure out this yet.

I would imagine that if they're giving out allocations to the dealerships, they have the ability to get the cars produced. But who knows. In the meantime I ordered a G60 BMW 540ix. It's being built the third week of January. Should have delivery early to mid March.

"Bosch said it has now significantly increased output of the 48-volt batteries and it expects to be able to catch up with demand" according to this paywalled article from mid november. A tweet from earlier in Nov suggests the CEOs of each company were meeting on this multiple times per week, which speaks volumes of the issue. However the most recent update suggests they are closer to a solution and at least making progress. Dealers don't know jack, their job is to sell the cars on the lot. All we can do is wait. It's annoying, but delays in the auto industry aren't exactly uncommon. Hard to say when to expect deliveries, not sure if there is anyone here who's placed an allocation for an e450 sedan that can give us any info on what their dealers told them. I think we'll know more around January but that's just speculation. If you're like me, I'd rather wait a few extra weeks/months to get the car I want if I'm spending 80k on it, though. Allows me more time to save for the down payment lol.

I put down a deposit for an E450. My salesman just took down my build based on the order guide as pricing hasn't been finalized yet. He told me to expect Q2 2024 delivery. He said it would go into production in March and potential delivery by April but I got the feeling that it's all still tentative and April might be very optimistic. I suppose we will know more in January,

I was told last week my E450 has a production completion date of February 12, per the production schedule. The order was showing as green in system last week.. I’m assuming delivery mid March ish. Will see when it turns yellow, should be more “certain” then

I found that to be a little disappointing to have a C class interior in a car that has an E Class family name. While I don't hate the C class interior, it is a C class interior after all...and I would have wanted something different for E.

I disagree, the W213 Facelift was among my favorites. The front face is more aggressive. Tons of people look at it and tell me they love the aggressive nose. All tastes vary. I loved it so much I bought a 2023

I agree. The FL W213 looks more aggressive than its pre-FL model. However, a few itsy bitsy features put me off hence I bought a very low mile off-lease ($81K MSRP) 2020 E, which hit all the marks for my money. I wish the W214 looks as aggressive as the FL W213, so looking forward to seeing it in the flesh next year.

I rented a Genesis and it had full screen car play. It is easier t follow Waze when the entire screen is used. I wish my 21 All terrain had that. the new 214 has that I am told. I wish I could upgrade my car to full screen.

This is one of those itsy bitsy issues I had with the FL W213. Happy to hear it has been fixed in the W214… but shouldn’t this full-screen issue be easily resolved with a software update to the MBUX?

I believe they reduced the portion of the screen covered by Apple CarPlay, since a portion of it would be blocked by the steering. The 214 version is designed to not have the screen be obstructed by the steering

Little update from my side.
I was told my E-Class was allocated for production in March and delivery in early May but while reviewing the build sheet I found out that it was for an E350 and not an E450 so now I'm waiting for an allocation again as the dealer hasn't got any. I hope they get one soon. If it gets delayed too much I might just cancel and pickup a used M550i or M850i as I may be in need of a car earlier.
Has anyone presumably in FL got an allocation for 24 E450 yet?
