Am I the only one who thinks the 2024+ E-Class taillights look "cheesy"/"gimmicky"..?

Did you have a chance to see one without the superscreen though, if so, why didn't you like it and why do you think the superscreen is a must have in that specific case? I am a sucker for wood so I like the standard setup, please convince me otherwise.

Forgot to ask, given how you enjoy the 4 banger, would you ever give up V6 or inline 6 and get a four cylinder?

But it’s your money so I can’t tell you how to spend it…

I already have the turbo-4 in my W206 I purchased last month. The engine is very peppy enough for the C, and does a very decent job on the larger E. You certainly won’t feel like you are driving a dog… it’s darn good. I am impressed.

The dealership had 3 on the lot, 2 with superscreen and one with the dark wood. Nothing bad about the wood dash, just that the superscreen makes the car feel more elegant and very posh and luxurious. It accentuates it more so… you and your front passenger will feel good looking at the front of the car while seated. At least that is how I felt. It’s a $2200 upgrade, which for a car that will cost you $70K+, it’s a small indent.

I found the word I was looking for - modern. The wood vs glass screen represent the contrast between tradition and modernism. You are correct, there is no right or wrong... I will look forward to your perspectives after you have had a chance to see these cars and given it a good test drive to boot.

Update:
Both of the dealerships in my area (GTA, Ontario) notified me about arrival of the new W214, can't wait to see it in person to see if the taillights are as intrusive as I thought.
Superscreen is a $1600 pre-tax option according to my salesperson. That is surprising as was expecting couple thousands to even 10K CAD.
