SUMMARY Mercedes-Benz AG ("MBAG"), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year ("MY") 2024 E-Class (214 platform) vehicles with 4-MATIC, the transmission wiring harness routing might not meet current production specifications. In this case, the transmission wiring harness could contact the front drive shaft and chafe over time. This could damage the wiring harness potentially resulting in a loss of vehicle propulsion without prior warning. This may increase the risk of a crash. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the routing of the transmission wiring harness on the affected vehicles and rework it, if necessary.
CONSEQUENCE In this case, the transmission wiring harness could contact the front drive shaft and chafe over time. This could damage the wiring harness potentially resulting in a loss of vehicle propulsion without prior warning. This may increase the risk of a crash.
