It isn't the height restriction since when it works before temperature goes up it works perfectly. Once the temperature inside the trunk goes up from the sun heating it up, it doesn't work and once the temperature goes down and the sun isn't cooking the car it works again.

I figured since if Germany was involved, they must had tried aomething so obvious already. Unless it was indeed the height restriction feature but for some reason software glitches when temperatures changes.

It could be a loose connector expanding from heat.

Hey guys,

Been following all the posts on the forum for a while now and I can’t stress how helpful it has been while we waited for the car to come home. Posting a few ‘older’ pics and will post a few more with the window tint shortly. It is definitely

worth the wait!

It is part of the amg line though, that is strange you couldn't get it. In the past, the amg line steering wheel is replaced by the standard steering wheel due to heated steering wheel but I thought that was solved now that they can offer heated steering wheels on the amg line steering wheel as well.

Can't things such as rings and fingers get caught between the horizontal spokes? It seems to be a safety hazzard. What color is the exterior? I love it, but it isn't available in the US. Maybe I can special order it.

never mind, I figured out amg line is actually standard but the steering wheel is the non amg-line style guess mbusa is trying to upsell people to the E 53 whenever that arrives.

I think that steering wheel was first available on the amg line facelift W213 sedan (I might be wrong) then pretty much it became an AMG steering wheel and included on all AMGs model years after.

As for things getting stuck, I agree to some extent but I am hoping MB thought of this?

That is the Verde Sulver Metallic and is available in the US. It's a beautiful color IMO.

Think that colour first debuted on the W214, was it made available to other models afterwards?

Interior is AMG line, with AMG line steering wheel (a standard option in AMG line in Europe), and seats are part leather on the sides and part alcantara in the middle (also a standard option in AMG line in Europe), which I prefer over full leather seats because there is absolutely no sweating on alcantara, no squaeking sounds, no sliding in corners, no special maintenance required, it is extremely durable, and it has a really nice and premium feel when you touch it.

As answered already, it is Verde Silver Color, as far as I know available only on W214.

As for thing getting stuck in the steering wheel, the space in between the horizontal spokes is narrow, I think you cannot stick your finger in there by accident, and I believe you should try really hard to have something stuck in there.
I really dont see it as any kind of a potential safety hazard.
