Question About Malfunctions with Camera/Adaptive High Beam

Hello Everyone!

Question about an issue I've been having. I"ve had the car about 9 weeks now and it has happened 3 times. At night only, when the car has been sitting outside for a few hours, I'll turn the car on, and the car is ok for a few yards and then I get the notice about camera/adaptive high beam assist is temporarily inactive. I drive about 2-3 minutes, and all is well. It happened about a month ago one night, and then didn't happen again until Saturday night, and then again last night. However, during the day, it is ok, and after parking in my garage it also ok, and in bad rain weather (so far) it hasn't happened. So my guess is it's something with fog when the camera can't see or something. I also get the yellow light on the bottom of the screen which is the pre-safe function I think. The car does NOT have the driver's assistance package.

any thoughts? I'm sure it's ok, just curious.

I have a 2019 E450 with exterior lighting package which automatically puts on the high beam and dims the lights: this happens periodically with me: sometimes it can be mist other times I cannot figure it out at all. Of course when it is snowing the sensors are covered it happens. Like your car it often clears while driving and always if I stop turn off the ignition, go inside to do an errand, when I come back it has cleared itself.

I guess Mercedes put gremlins in so that we appreciate the system when it is operating!

yes, same here. I just drove to work this morning in pouring rain, and it was completely fine. I'm sure its mist or something to do with that. Just the fact that it happened two nights in a row, i'm like....what?!?!! The car is brand new and shouldn't be doing that lol.
