2022 E450 All Terrain problems

I’ve owned about 2 dozen Mercedes over the years and the 2022 E450 is the worst car I’ve owned…and my first car was a Chevy Vega. The multiple recalls, and now over the last 6 months the car has been to the dealer no fewer than 5 times. We’re on our third 48volt battery, we’ve had multiple problems with safety systems shutting down, a nightmare of the car breaking down in traffic an unable to be shifted out of park, Mercedes Roadside service sending the wrong tow vehicle then being told I’d have to wait ANOTHER 3 hours to get the proper tow vehicle (I called a local company and had a tow with the proper equipment in 20 minutes), we’ve replaced the air conditioning compressor and the car still throws intermittent check engine warnings and occasionally says the 12v battery is partially charged on the App. Mercedes Benz Customer Dis-Service has been unhelpful and blames the dealer for not fixing the multiple problems. This car will traded shortly…likely for a Genesis.

Just to be clear - it's a 2022 or is that a typo?

I had great luck with all of my MB cars....been quite a few. Monday of this week I saw a business associate. He said his wives GLC43 might need is FOURTH engine in under three years. Part of me says I have to blame the dealership.

He has more money than he can spend in his life....so, not trying to get out of the car. She seriously drives like the old lady she is. MB does all service at the Stealership. None of it makes sense.

Not a typo. The car will turn 3 next month and has 26,000 miles on it.

Makes no sense to me either. My first Mercedes was a preowned 1981 240D with 75,000 miles on it. I bought it for $8,500 in 1989. I drove it trouble free to 185,000 miles. I received $8,000 on trade for a 1987 260E with 70,000 miles that I drove problem free to 175,000 miles. I’m afraid those days are long gone. I get it that you can get a bad car but the dealer is doing everything they can but Mercedes corporate is doing nothing other than telling me it doesn’t qualify for Florida's lemon law. I just want the car fixed, I never asked to replace it. This is how you judge a car company…when you have a problem. Mercedes is failing miserably. I have two other Mercedes in my garages. It’s unlikely there will be another one.

Then you're posting in the wrong forum. This is the one for the newest model.

My 2024 All Terrain is 6 months old with. 4000 miles. It's my 5th Mercedes. Love the engine/transmission/suspension. But the interface as well as some of the safety features are annoying. I find E driving mode to be overly intrusive. It won't let me coast 5 mph over the posted speed limit. If I'm driving 5 mph over the limit and take my foot off the accelerator, it will brake me down to speed limit + 5mph. The lane keeping assist will sometimes vibrate the wheel, sometimes jerk the wheel. Latest event: Coasting down a hill in C-mode, hands on the wheel, the steering wheel icon began flashing red. Jiggling the wheel the icon disappeared, then immediately reappeared. This repeated 3 times and then the message "Emergency braking applied" or some thing close to that, and the car started auto-braking....in traffic. Moving the wheel did nothing. Hit the accelerator and after a few second the auto-braking disengaged.

Can't seem to turn off the radio. I can manually mute it but at next start it's on again--and not always at the same volume level. Favorites have disappeared, only to reappear after another engine start. Periodically get "Driver's camera not available", "Steering assist not available", "Emergeny braking assist" unavailable". "Hey Mercedes" loves to insert itself into conversations I'm having with passengers. And in general, none of the touch functions work while I'm wearing leather gloves (was not a problem with my Volvo V90). I live in Maine and wear gloves 5 months out of the year.....

I want to like this car, but it's a challenge......

Any Advice?

I’ve given the green light for repurchasing, but only verbally. Please tell me your experience, any advice is appreciated.

Hopefully a software update fixes these.

I'm going threw the same issue. My E450 has been at the dealer twice aand the second time it's been 6 days. the dealer is communicating with Mercedes for a fix. I honestly am not happy. How did you get the process going for the repurchase?

Thanks for your time.

It’s best to seek legal representation. My experience has shown me that consulting a Lemon Law attorney or firm would have made things much easier.
Unlike the manufacturers, who may not be invested in resolving your case, a good attorney will actively work to help you.
Keep in mind that MB will not make the process easy for you.

Well, yesterday I called the dealer and was told it was not a mechanical issue, rather is a engineering issue and they're dealing with Mercedes to fix it. This is my second time taking it in and it's been six days at the dealer. IDK If we should call an lemon law attorney at this point.

If you satisfied the condition of lemon law for your state and you found the replacement vehicle with the options and spec you want, then yes, otherwise don't try to settle for a vehicle with options you want or need but don't have just to get out of it.
