One Touch Window Open

My passenger front window only one touch opens. It won't one touch close. The switch has to be held up. Just pulling up once fully and letting go and window stops in its tracks.

All other windows one touch open and close. An issue ?

Edit: Found this answer on Reddit which worked

Hold the window switch down to roll the window all the way down. Continue to hold the switch down for about 5 seconds, then release.

Hold the window switch in the up position and allow the window to roll all the way up. Continue holding in the up position for about 5 seconds then release.

Once the window drops down slightly hold the switch in the up position again and allow the window to roll up. Continue holding the switch for another 5 seconds.

What does that procedure do? Enable/disable auto up/down?

Also, for reference, which vehicle and year do you have?

That procedure resets a window that fails to either fully open or close by a single full depression of or pull up on its window switch.

2024 E450.

Based on other reading I'm guessing this is the procedure for many late model Mercedes.

That procedure works for many MB models and much older too, like a decade or so ago, its purpose is reset the calibration of the windows, usually what you need to do when it glitches and/or if a battery disconnect is long enough and the calibration is lost.

solderless door modules

The window acting up is caused by poor connection issue on the door module.

The voltage available to work the window motor is impacted by in-line voltage drop.

Replace or resolder the DCU Module: either 5mn job or $1000.
