The differences I have observed so far are as follows:
  • “Hey Mercedes” now appears to listen continuously to both front occupants. Previously, it would only actively listen to the driver when they were alone. When a passenger entered the vehicle, activation required explicitly saying “Hey Mercedes.”
  • With the latest update, the system responds even when a passenger is seated without needing the wake phrase. It now recognises and processes voice commands more naturally from both the driver and passenger.
  • I have also noticed an improvement in the phone reminder feature. If a phone is left in the car, the system now provides up to three different warning prompts instead of repeating a single phrase.
  • In addition, there seem to be some bug fixes related to the lighting system, which now operates more reliably.
These are the key differences I have noticed so far.

The voice changed as well right or was that a newer update?

None of the things on your list other than the last about bug fixes are new. They all existed in versions going back nearly 2 years now. Your update must have changed your profile settings. The Hey Mercedes prompt requirement or listen full time is a setting you can change. The listen to driver or driver and passenger has also been a feature for a long time. The forgot your phone message had several different messages as well long before this update.

That was a newer update. Voice stayed the same with 3.2.2.

These features are entirely new to me and were definitely not available in my car when I purchased it new last year and I have been to the garage many times for regular updates. All the points mentioned are new from my perspective.

Another change I’ve noticed is the ability to customise the Digital Light welcome pattern. Previously, I only had options like Digital Rain and AMG Pattern, but now I can add my own designs and personalise it further.

Interestingly, I had a similar customisation feature on my C300e with MBUX Version 2, two years ago. However, on my E53, this is definitely a new addition for me as well.
