Ordered E53 Wagon - first post
Oh, 100% for sure! I'm just merely pointing out that the Edition 1 is a weird configuration. I understand that dealers must have some product on the floor so they have to order some cars. My local dealer has three sold orders and one in production so you can see that most of the wagons for sure will be order vehicles and not off the lot.

No disagreement there. While 48 sounds like a low number, in terms of AMG Wagons that's a quite substantial number. There might be some pent up demand for an AMG wagon given its absence in the past few years. If I was a betting men, I wouldn't expect MBUSA to sell more than 250 samples total of the 2026 AMG E53 Wagon in the US.
The Euro Edition 1 definitely sounds more like something I'd be interested in. Not a big fan of the superscreen but I'd be willing to entertain one if it had the other things I'd be looking for such as Driver Assist and the Multicontour seats.

You may be close. My US dealer friend the other day said he saw 156 on the ground and 50 more shipped/inbound. So 206 as of last week. That includes E1 cars. Not all are sold orders.
Audi had very similar low numbers for the RS 6 Avant when it first launched in the United States, but that car has since become a sales success. I suspect the E 53 will remain niche because it's not a V8 and the RS 6/M5T FOMO wagon-enthusiast-poser crowd can't handle that. (No V8 is planned for the 214 generation.)
I don't miss Edition 1. The only difference between my E1 and its replacement is the yellow accents everywhere. (Too similar to the few Volvo V60 Polestars I owned.) Mercedes was awesome and built it with the E1 striping to make up for the issue with the first. I did not opt for the Superscreen for round 2, but like my E1, I opted again for the black brakes and black door sills (not US stuff). My interior is now Tonka brown with the gray wood and backlit AMG logo. It is beautiful!

If anything, the E53 will likely cannibalize All-Terrain purchases with people who don't care for the plastic clad and also interested in the PHEV drivetrain. So maybe I should re-state my estimation and say that All-Terrain + E53 orders will not exceed last year's All-Terrain orders by more than 250 units in the US.

You can't extrapolate first month sales linearly. The order sheet has been available and open since May. So the 200 cars are 5+ months of orders. We "may" see more than 250 but generally sales were in the hundreds in the US and I don't think we'll see a sudden surge/splurge in wagon interest.

Thank you!! Hope all goes smoothly with yours and that you will enjoy when it is in your hands too!
Super happy with how it turned out, the wait was definitely worth it. Despite all the oddities about the launch, it’s a dream come true.
Many thanks to the team at MB Manhattan for making this happen.
Time to take her on a trip for the weekend to run it in.

I think it will look awesome on a wagon. And the few pics of a Sonoran wagon on Instagram and the net look gorgeous too…

117 Blacks (combined)
44 Blue
10 Red
49 Matte Moonlight White
17 Polar White
38 Moonlight

I just test drove the Edition 1 at my local dealer. It's a very nice vehicle, the missus actually liked it, and liked many of the details that I thought she wouldn't care about. I also talked to one of the sales managers and he said I can order an Alpine Grey any which way I like, there is no limitation on the color as far as he can tell. Reason for the inquiry is that my wife actually really liked the color. Dealer's next build slot is January, 2026 so car won't be here until March or so. Interestingly she also liked the whole night package look with the dark chrome and the black forged wheels, which I didn't think she would care about.
Regardless, we have some mulling over on the options and whether we're ready to make the commitment to this car as her new daily. She's a pothole queen so I was really trying to sway her to go with a 20" wheel but she really liked the 21" black wheel so who knows....

your dealer knows when their second allocation is expected and my dealership can’t even find out when their first allocation is for my order. shaking my head…
