Ordered E53 Wagon - first post

I also found the first ever with the Silver Metallic Mixed Fabric trim, it's in Salt Lake City, UT.

We also have our first Patagonia Red Wagon. It's in Oregon.
The most of the wagons, 27, are in California. 14 in Florida, 12 in New Jersey and 11 in Texas. There are only 23 states with E53 wagons so far.

Also, there is exactly one Nautical Blue with Black interior, it went to Illinois. The rest have brown or grey interiors, which makes sense to me.
With these cars, just order what you want and wait....

I have silver metallic thread center console - will post a picture. It goes well with the silver paint I have on the outside.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

hood, front fenders, mirror caps). I decided to just wrap the whole thing. If I hadn’t Murphy’s law would have resulted in scratch in an unwrapped location - lol!

My 2014 W212 is a hooptie now with all kinds of scrapes and bruises. At 245k miles and having two kids learn to drive on her, she's as strong as ever. The first ding is the hardest to endure.
Still, $7k to protect the paint? That is insanity.

Having said that, if this is a vehicle you intend to keep for the long haul, I'd not look at the depreciation aspect. I would just enjoy keeping her in a pristine state (mechanically and cosmetically).

I actually drove down from Chicago myself. Not too bad only 4.5 hours.
My ideal interior would haven been Tonka brown with maple trim. Dallas has one but they low balled my trade. Plus this one came with all season tires.

The Neva Grey interior is what we went with on our order car but the tonka looks great on a blue exterior for sure.

I envision a few custormers:
1) Budget minded M5/RS6 shoppers who are OK with a tad less ludicrous performance for some elevated luxury and significant money saving
2) All Terrain customers who are willing to spend $15k extra to get a few extra goodies and a PHEV power train
3) AMG wagon fans who are rejoicing over another AMG wagon even if it's not a 63
4) PHEV customers who are genuinely interested in a sensible range PHEV but despise SUVs.
I wonder how many of these customers will be "net new" to MB and not cross-shoppers of GLE or the All Terrain.
