Engine Oil Level

Call me stupid, but I can't seem to be able to figure out how to check the engine oil level, on my 2024 E450. I'm aware that there isn't a traditional dipstick, but I've scrolled through the various icons on the dashboard's information screen, but can't find one that displays the engine's oil level. And for that matter, I can't find one that displays tire pressures, either. And with respect to the tire pressure, one time I summoned "Hey Mercedes", and asked to display the tire pressure, and the reply was "you aren't a subscriber to that service", or something like that.

Can any of you folks help out a "newbie"??

TIA.......

You can easily see tire pressures on the Mercedes Me app.

Hit the home button on the left side of your steering wheel. Then use the arrow pad to scroll all the way to the rightmost driver display mode called Information. Then hit the OK button. This is all on the wheel and on the driver display, not the central display. The information screen shows tire pressure, tire temp, and oil level.

Thanks for the info! I assume that this is done with the ignition "on", but the engine off, correct? (at least for the oil check, I mean.....)

You can switch to that display with the engine off and ignition in ACC, but you will not get any tire or oil info until you start the engine. Tire pressure requires you to drive a few 1000 feet before they register any info as well.

Coming to M-B, from the world of Jaguars, and other, older cars that had dipsticks, I find it interesting that the oil level is checked with the engine running. On our last Jaguar(s), with the electronic oil level sensors, the level was checked with the engine off, as it was also done that way with our previous cars that had a dipstick.

It also appears that I need to log onto the "Mercedes and Me" application........

It is a bit different and I wish it still had a dip stick. I think it's all part of MB trying to keep owners from servicing their own cars. The computer measures the oil in the pan and compensates for what is circulating through the engine.

You do not need to login to Mercedes Me to check the oil if that what you meant. Mercedes Me is only needed for the digital extras such as remote start. Another item they should have just put on the key fob. The first year of digital extras are included in the price of the car. Then they become an annual renewal cost.

Did you not read the answer provided ?

There is no need to log into any app to check oil level or tire pressure.

For the most precise measurement (down to the amount in liters) you need to check it in the workshop menu, the bar doesn't show numbers, ignore the part where the video scrolled to the ASSYST PLUS menu, you need to go to vehicle data instead, keep in mind the workshop menu auto hide itself next time so you need to do this everytime :

YES, I did read the answer(s) provided, HOWEVER, I did not immediately go out to the garage and attempt to pull up the "service screen" on the dashboard display. I did that this morning, and was able to find both the oil level. as well as the tire pressures displayed.

Yes, you don't know if the engine can run safely with current engine oil level until the engine runs. Totally doesn't make sense.

When you check the oil in the Workshop menu you are will see a question asking if the engine is filled with oil.

Workshop screen in E53 Hybrid.

The assumption is that bringing up the menu is during the engine oil service. Therefore, the question is a reminder in Germ-lish. Along the lines of ... " Did you remember to fill the engine with oil? " to give pause before starting an engine that might not have had the oil re-flled, added, replaced, poured in or filled in, most importantly because the menu is available after engine start.
