I just got back from a trip and boy, what a load of new deliveries in the past few days! 17 new cars showed up in inventory and now I have tracked and tabulated a total of 193 E53 Wagons for the US.
I also have some additional interesting metrics.
On average, a car takes 13 days to sell while the current inventory on dealer lots has been for sale on average 27 days. The huge discrepancy between these two numbers either means that there was a pent up demand that jumped on the cars early or it is an indicator that the majority of E53 wagons are indeed sold orders that get picked up much quicker than dealer stock cars which tend to sit longer.
If we look at the distribution of days on lot for sold cars it becomes clear that the distribution does not match the normal distribution which means there is an external force that changes it, which is special orders that get picked up within a week of arrival vs. dealer order cars.
Thanks for keeping up with all the data GregTR...just one question: In this chart you show "cars available" hovering around 30-ish right now. But there appears to be around 100 E53 wagons on the MBUSA website. Does this mean that about 70 of those cars are already sold?
Sorry, I cut off the left end of the chart which cut off the vertical scale of the cars available, which is different from the cars in/out. There are a 103 cars currently available for sale (some are probably ordered cars that have yet to be picked up). There are 78 cars that have been in inventory for at least 10 days (most likely not sold order cars) with the average time in inventory for these is 37 days and it ranges between 10 and 47 days. It is too early to estimate average time to sell for these cars as most are still for sale from the initial delivery time of 10/1/25 so not that much inventory turnover, which is kind of expected for the E53 wagons. I've seen All-terrains stay on dealer lots for 6-10 months before.
Looking for information please, ordered E53 Wagon and it states car is in production. Would someone be kind enough to look it up or tell me how? That would be awesome. VIN W1KLH6DB5STA256174…..

It's very nicely optioned! I'd take it if it was on my dealer's lot and available. Only major difference between what I ordered and this one is that you have the DP and I ordered the Dynamica headliner. You also got the 3D dashboard and rear side airbags. Have you seen the 3D dashboard before ordering or just figured might as well get this thing loaded up?
MSRP of $118,900 it's definitely one of the more expensive builds (151/184 so far not counting E1).

I have the 3D display and it's quite cool looking. Really adds to the premium feel of the car. Only the driver can see the 3D effect and it's not something you can capture on camera. You must be in the drivers seat so it's a bit hard to get an idea of how it looks without getting in a car with the option. I'm glad I got it and would get it again.

It took me til now to realize you had the MSRP, so it's in the system now. Now we know...pre-ordered cars show up at least briefly the day or day after they show up at the dealer. Also, "funny" story: the MSRP was supposed to be $119,085, but forwhatever reason they weren't able to source the all weather mats at the factory, so they were dropped.
Noone asked, but off the top of my head, the only options i said no to were:
* all Carbon fiber
* AMG gas cap (why buy a target for theft)
* Screen cleaning cloth (don't need a star logo on the $.75 cloth)
* headliner (because I had never seen one to know the difference. in hindsight, would have done it)
* AMG sport seats (i'm old, i'd rather be comfortable/massaged )
* superscreen (because the 350 has it and it's been basically useless)
* first aid kit (wife is a first responder and we have way better)
* dash cam (i wanted to see if the subscription from the current car carries over, if it doesn't i can re-buy)

My understanding is that the dash cam does not carry over. It stays with the car though so the new owner will have it. It's not a subscription but rather a one time purchase to enable it. I had the same question when I leases a 2024 E350 before purchasing a 2025 E450. I reached out to MBUSA and they said it will not transfer to another car.
