Recent MBUX changes

So, a bit odd, I had accepted the latest set of software upgrade, and after my right rear window stopped working. Took it to the dealer, they said the problem was software (a relief, its only a year and a few months old and the window has been operated maybe 5 times in the whole time), they had to reinstall upgrades to get it to work. This reset some things, now I notice some UX changes that surprise me. The usual Home Screen I got is different, the icons are all on the bottom, and I can't find the "Routines" app. Is it just my imagination? I did have to recreate the seat position memory as well.

How about a picture so we can see what you are talking about? Do you use the zero layer interface or the standard interface? Do you know how to switch between the two? Maybe it's on the one you don't normally use. Not sure what you mean by "icons all on the bottom" since both interfaces would not fit that description.

You are right, it was just that the reset must have gone back to the old app menu rather than the zero layer, which I'd been using since I bought the car. I had forgotten that it was called the "Zero Layer" in fact. I might give the old style app bar a try: the concierge said the Zero Layer was good because it was context sensitive and brought things you were likely to need up front, but its a little busy and hard to navigate from the steering wheel, and I don't use it much because I have to take my eyes off the road and poke around. At the risk of starting a debate, what do people tend to prefer?

I vote zero layer (just in my opinion)

I use zero layer and prefer it much more than the standard UI. Not sure I see how it's "busy" though. There are typically 3 to 4 icons or mini panels up and the majority of the screen is dedicated to the function you are on.
