Our first MB

Had looked at Mercedes E and S class previously as old peoples' cars- no offense meant please. The closest we'd come to one was just over a decade ago, when looking to get out of our Panamera 4S, I checked out the S class. I told the sales rep, it felt like a car my father would drive, not for a "young" man like me. I went with a BMW 750 at the time then back to a 911 as I missed the Porsche's handling. Well, I guess we've grown older. The boss (wifey) requested a blue E class like her late fathers'. Did lots of reading on this forum and lots of youtube. We considered ordering one to spec, about the time tariffs were to kick in, but looking at available 2025s and 2024s turned up one exactly to spec which was immediately available. Additionally, it was quite a deal on a 2024 I could not reasonably turn down. Corporate owned, 2XXX miles when we got it a couple of months back. Have just completed my first and only modification (old E class/Euro style).
Thanks to all participants on the forum for their input which helped with decision making.

Wow, the car looks fantastic. That raised, old-style hood ornament looks super cool.

Very nice car!
Just wondering, is this a car that was sent out to reviewers when the 214 e class first launched? I thought only the exclusive trim models overseas had the fully brown door panel and center console area available to option. The reviews I saw on YouTube for the 214 e class had the full brown interior as well, so I was just curious if this was a demo vehicle. If not, I guess you somehow got an interior variation that wasn't offered in the US

This video was taken in the US and has fully brown door panels and center console.

Nice catch!. Some US 2024s did have the Tonka brown on the middle console when optioned with the Nappa quilted seats, but not in 2025. The European models, at least on the German and British configurators allow this option. I asked the salesperson if an exception could be made with a US late 2025 order to get the middle console in tonka brown, but I could not get a definite positive answer. One of reasons I actually jumped on the car when I saw it for sale. Also, in 2024 you had insulated glass as a stand alone option but in 2025 it was part of a package. Funny that I already was looking at the E class back then even though we had no plans purchasing one at the time!

Totally agree. That lighter dash does liven things up a bit.
