"Add 1 Quart Oil at Next Refueling"
Got a surprising alert last night driving home. My 2024 E450 was acquired in May of 2024, has about 12,000 miles on it, already had its first service earlier this year. Last night driving home I got a "add 1 quart oil" alert. No sign of leaking or oil burning, which would be very surprising in such a new car. Took it to the dealer to get the oil put in, but they said they wanted to bring it tomorrow to physically compare the oil level with the sensor since it seemed so odd. Definitely in the service screen it shows a little below minimum. Has anyone else seen such a problem?

My W214 E53 is at just under 17K miles. Before and after I changed the oil at 10K miles the oil "gauge" in the cockpit service screen was at the max mark. A couple of weeks ago after 10 miles of spirited driving in S+ mode the cockpit screen oil gauge was at the midpoint between min and max levels. I was considering adding a half quart of oil before my planned oil change at the end of the year. The next time I started the car, the oil level was at the max level again. I wish the 450 engine had an oil dipstick tube.

I had a problem with the oil level sansor at my first 1-year service in my GLE. A day before the service I got an alert of lower oil level, decided to have them check it out the next day. When they changed the oil, the oil level sensor stoped working all together. They had to leave the car overnight to replace it. Maybe you're also having a problem with the sensor.

That link in mind, in my cars (any of them) - if I get the "Add oil" light I just simply change the oil and put in the proper volume for my engines. I have only seen it a time or two, generally near the end of my oils life.
