The 2027 E class is a mid-cycle refresh according to several sources.
The unknown is if the gas models get the update.
The EV model is definitely new - the jellybean is dead.
I'm ordering a '27 E 500 EV as soon as the books open.

^ Perhaps the EQE-class will see major changes, but the E-class is only in its third model year…very unlikely a mid-cycle refresh happens before 2028.

The EQE ends with the 2026 model. It is dead. The new E class will look the same no matter how it is powered.
So the new E class body arrives this year (2026) as a 2027 model and I would expect the gas powered E class models to arrive in 2027 as either a late issue 2027 or 2028 model. 2027 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Gets an Early Facelift to Fix W214's Flaws, Though Only in CGI - autoevolution

Thx for the info. I want to replace my W212 but I’m not in any rush so want to wait for the refresh (ICE).

That's a smart move. I would not have gotten a W214 if I hadn't totaled my 2012 W212. It had 170K miles and I planned on going at least to 225K before even considering replacing it. The W212 is a great car.

Perhaps, but the EQE is definitely being replaced by an all new E class EV. Mercedes has already announced that 2026 is the end of the EQE and EQE SUV.

I was referring to the upcoming E class, not just the W214 subset.
