Digital Light Option - Busted?

Hi all,

I activated the digital light option for $200 on my 2026 e450. I've ensured it's "on,", all options are on. Toggled them on/off. I see no difference through the windshield when I drive, day or night, and at this point not sure what I'm supposed to see. Nothing is projecting onto the road or on in the heads-up display (if it's supposed to). I can't say I've seen pedestrians ahead of me at night but nothing is happening at all to highlight them, or anything. What should I see realistically? I've read the manual but still something seems wrong. Any ideas before I haul it to the service department? Thanks all.....

It is supposed to project on to the road like a over head projector but in the car's case through many LEDs. Regulations comes to play and if it is blocked in your region, you need a third party coder to enable it

I posted this identical message in the other thread. The digital light projections are your headlights projecting shapes/images on the road. It will project arrows if you veer off and there is a startup/shutdown sequence of digital rain or waves. It's only visible at night and very limited in terms of the circumstances that you will see them. There is a long discussion on them here where I posted my experience in post #68. There is a lot of opportunities for MB to do some really cool things with them, but right now they are quite underwhelming. Since it's your headlights creating shapes with light, you can only experience it when it's dark enough.

Have you verified the features are active on MBUX and on you Mercedes Me account? Other than the startup welcome light show the projections are pretty subtle. I have only seem the lane alert in my use, and it's really easy to miss. The projection is dim and of short duration.

Update: This entire digital light thing on my car is stupid, unless it's not working right. In totally darkness, I simulated drifting into the oncoming lane. I got a faint white projection arrow on the road pointing me to go back to the right. Could hardly see it. Next, there there was a jogger up ahead, I stayed in my lane safely from the jogger, nothing was projected. IF this is working right, it's a stupid option and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Digital light in US is different than digital light in EU. Lots of fun welcome animations or other QOL features you might have seen in Mercedes youtube videos are not available in the US.

Elebest on this forum does an excellent job enabling digital lights on US cars.
