Amazon Music App feedback opportunity

The latest version of the Amazon Music app has come up in various threads. I think the general consensus is that the user interface sucks but it sounds great, especially with Atmos content. Well, I just found this post on Linkedin from the Chief Software Officer of MB, from a couple months ago, that might be able to help. Here is the link: Exciting news for Mercedes-Benz drivers - Amazon Music with Dolby Atmos is now integrated into the latest MBUX 3.3 OTA update! 🎧 Experience immersive spatial audio with incredible depth and… | Amazon Music. If you look down at the bottom of the article, you will see a place where you can post comments. He asks specifically for feedback, so here is our chance to get some feedback to them. What is your wish list for improvements? Let's discuss and then, at some point, if each of us posts a comment with suggestions we might help him direct their (software development) energy in a good direction. What improvements would you like to see in the Amazon Music app?

For me, the two big things I would like are:

1. I can have my playlists at the top of the first screen in the UI when I start the app, and in the order I want. (The other stuff they populate/pollute the screen with can be there, but below my playlists so I can easily ignore it. A bonus would to be able to include the "recently played" and "discovery" lists they generate where I want on the screen, along with my playlists and hide the rest of what they show now.)

2. I can have the app resume (playlist/song) from where it was last playing, when it is run again. (I stop for a moment, then jump back in the car, and currently have to start the app, navigate to the playlist, scroll down the list (while it starts playing the first song in the playlist), and then select the one I was just listening to... Ughh! I don't want the app to auto-start and play music, but if/when I start it, I would like to easily get back to where it was.)

Definitely my biggest irritation, almost making the app worthless to me, is no restart from what and where you were last playing before turning off the car.

Probably my second biggest irritation is the lack of an alphabetical search within library lists. You can’t jump to an “N” directly for example but must scroll down, wait for additional data to slowly load and keep scrolling down. This is very basic search capability that is shockingly absent. It doesn’t help that lists are limited to so few selections. If you search your library for albums you get cover art rather than a list but that group of album covers is a very small subset of my overall library and it doesn’t seem to load any additional titles when scrolling to the end. Since you cannot reorder the list or sort in any way you’re basically limited to a very small portion of your library which is useless.

Also just a generally clunky and very slow interface. It takes forever to search or to navigate playlists.

I know I have a longer list than this, but that is what springs to mind on my 1st cup of coffee.

agree with all of this. It’s so bad that it’s hard to pick out all of the issues. It’s beyond repair - it’s a restart from scratch situation.
