I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'll give it a try.
I'm planning to install an active subwoofer in my S214 and therefore need to access the battery, which, if I understand correctly, is located behind the panel on the right-hand side of the trunk. Since it's a hybrid, I've removed the screws at the rear near the seat backs, and I can lift the floor panel at the back, but it won't come loose at the front near the tailgate.I've tried removing the black plastic trim piece, but there were no screws underneath. I suspect I may need to remove the chrome trim strip, but I'm unsure how to do that and I'm worried about breaking it.
I'm also wondering how the side panel is attached. It looks like there's a cover/hatch there (marked with a red circle), but I haven't been able to remove it. Could it be that the panel is only held in place by clips (apart from the screw at the very rear)?
Has anyone had experience with this and could help me out?
