Wavetrac LSD HAG215
Wavetrac LSD HAG215
I'm selling my Wavetrac LSD HAG215 that was in my SL55. I purchased the unit back in April of this year. The unit has a few hundred miles on it at most. It is basically brand new. I paid $1,070.00 for it and I'm letting it go for $600.00 plus shipping. The unit worked great while it was in and is not even broken in yet.........
If you read up on it, Wavetrac has advantages over the Quaife and that is why I decided to purchase it in the first place. I can supply pictures for anyone interested.
Thanks for looking..............

The bearings are still on it, you're more than welcome to them since they are still on the diff. I have the bearing races that match along with the seals. All were new when the diff was put in. I'm not selling the rear housing if that is what your asking so not sure if your housing is the same. You can check with Wavetrac to see which MB's it will work with.

PA cougar,
Not all LSD's are just a quick replacement, even though it does happen. The backlash needs to be set along with having the correct C clips to be able to do it properly. The unit went in great and worked great but the backlash was not set properly and since I did not have the various C clips and tools to properly set it up I decided to sell it. My advice is that whoever decides to tackle their rear that they have it done properly so it's whisper quiet. A lot of other people have had no problems with the Wavetrac when setup properly. Need to find someone who specializes in Rears. Their customer service is great and they stand behind their product 100%. I was going to send it out to California where they would have set it up for a fee but the expense of just sending the entire rear and casing was too great. Just find a local qualified mechanic. Wavetrac sells over 20 different C clips in varied widths to make sure it goes in right. Sorry for the long answer, but I'm honest. Seriously, the noise was not bad either, I'm just
OCD I think they call it!! Your in California....this would be great for you, have their shop install it for you. They use the proper C clips during setup and they guarantee it will be perfect!

Yes. Most would have just left alone. Like I said I heard it and it bothered me. It just needs to be set-up properly, backlash etc. and it would be great. You just need someone who is capable and they will need the different thickness C clips to do that. If you have someone that does rears then it's no big deal to them.

The wavetrac is just as effective as the quaife. Turn off the ESP, as much as the car let's you, and you might get your occasional flash but it's a great mod for these cars.

I also chose the Wavetrac differential over the Quaife. Mine performs as advertised and it's noise free.
