Run Flat Flats

Had my second 18" Continental OEM run-flat go flat on me yesterday. I know the first one was most likely due to a pot hole on the Bornx River Pkwy (and NYC area folks know what I mean) but I do not recall hitting a pot hole and was just on a normal North Jersey city street (which only means small potholes) and got a tire message that right-rear was 26lb. I was 5 minutes from a Mavis Discount tire which had replaced the first tire. They ordered the tire, had it there within 2 hours and installed in another 40 minutes or so. At the same price as Tire Rack.

What are people's experience with these Conti tires?

Not sure about the Continentals but I had the Bridgestone Run Flats (Turanza T005) and had 2 punctures. Both punctures were caused by screws/ nails and resulted in slow leaks. Used DIY tire plugs in both cases and tires were fine. I decided to replace Run Flats with Standard tubeless a few weeks back.

Hi. Please include Age and Milage of your current Tires, so we know wich one can get more real World Miles. Thank You.

I have still my first Continental Tires on my EQB 350 4matic. (2 Years / 21K Miles) and they have about 3-4mm left. I have at least 4-5 Plugs in my Tires. I drive frequently to Boatyards and my Cabinet Makers Shop with Home Improvement Businesses as Neighbors there. Screws and Metal Objects attract my Tires it seems. I hope I can get more Miles or another Year out of these Tires.
before they turn to Swiss Chees.
At my recent 20K Service the Tire wear (never rotated) was absolute equal from Front and back Tires. Just the outside Edge of the front Tires show a bit more wear from Cornering (driving Turns).
