Selling the EQC online...
Sounds like Mercedes is doing a 180 and planing to sell/configure the EQC online in the US. I was first in line for one at the dealer but it turns out that this doesn't count as Mercedes will launch the EQC online a la Tesla. Online configuration, $1000 deposit without firm base MSRP from what I am told. This is supposed to start in October or so.

Hmmm, I wonder if online-only in the US might mean no discounting, unless sales are soft at some point.

You will still go through the dealer. The online program will allow you to put down a deposit and pick the participating dealer where you want to pick up the car.

There won't be many of these cars available. Especially outside of California. Discounts won't be an issue. Plus, you will still get the full tax deduction. Unlike at Tesla where they are over the limit.
