Reccomendation for someone to Code ILS / Digital Matrix Lights on? Asked BenzNinja and he said he doesn't support the EQE yet.
Thanks!
Thanks!
@EleBest did my EQS. I would imagine he can do the EQE too.

I checked with RJ Automotive for the updated coding and was quoted 600 pounds. That's just not worth it unless you drive a lot on unlit country roads IMO.

That's obscene, much as ILS is the best thing since sliced bread I wouldn't to it again for that price. It takes all of 10 minutes. It was £400 for the EQS and £250 for the '19 E53.
I see that ILS coding on their webpage is "Sold out", which is curious given that there are no parts. MB must have shut them down. They're the second coder that I've heard of stopping re-coding lights.

I have to say it is so much easier to code my Porsche 718. I bought a Launch X431 on Amazon and have been able to code the car with that.

All the coding's for platform based on w206/223 ( including EQS, etc.) was possible with the help of a Chinese guy who rent Security Certificates for offline coding. All coders around the world only use this guy. As like any monopoly, this guy was stopped by MB and for now there is no solution...

So it turns out there is some issue which is preventing all of these guys from coding. This explains why @Elebest also could not help me. I mistakenly thought he was being difficult but it turns out there is a legitimate obstacle since the others also cannot code right now. They are all a bit cryptic in explaining this but my impression is that there must have been some software update from the OEM which locked them out and the coding tool needs updating. RJ Automotive told me they estimated that the coding could resume in October. Elebest said he did not know when they would be able to resume coding.

I'll spend my cash on a new set of A/S tires! My car works fine for me as it is. Of course, maybe if there is a DISCO mode for the lights that might be worth it.

We haven't had any warranty issues in the two years since the E53 was coded. That's with a number of pre-paid services and MB ELW claims. The ILS was over-written on a recent software repair but RJA re-coded it last week without a bother.

That is with the prior version of MBUX. The Eqe and Eqs use a later version which has continous online reporting. Just a guess here.

Had the lights on my 2021 E63S wagon coded in 2022, I recall paying about $200 with the additional OBD connector. I checked with RJ Automotive in February and was quoted 600 pounds before the latest shutdown. I'm not sure what the issue is. Still, it's probably the liability for modifying current vehicles (not antique or more than 10 years old) that exposes them and the owner to $$ damages. Additionally, since MB can detect these behavior changes outside of the car's region, your warranty might also be compromised. While it was cool to see the lights work with the modifications, my driving is mostly on lighted roads and interstates where having these adaptive lights is of minimal value. There are also issues concerning the intensity of the lights between the EU and proposed US standards. It's not just the coding at this point. It's puzzling, though, why the other coding mods (non-ILS) can be performed.

There is no hardware differences between EU and US, only software/coding and all that because the law regarding using high beam together with low beams was not updated in the USA.
On new models the Digital Light option is far more spectacular than any Disco lights.

The intensity on LED headlights for Mercedes is managed by the codings and software, the same as white balance and the dynamic functions.

On the topic of lights and differences, I'd love to know why MB descoped corning lights on the EQS. I drive a lot in dark neighborhoods and with the massive A-pillar I can't see a bloody thing when turning. The '19 with fewer pixel lights has corning lights while the newer and better '23 doesn't.

Yep, ‘19 used an USB connector while the '23 was an Ethernet.
