Rear Wheel Steering

Hi folks-

I've got a brand new 2025 EQE SUV 350 on the way and I ordered it with rear steering. According to the purchase order, the car has 10° rear steering. However, I'm wondering if all 10° of that is available without paying some sort of subscription fee. I may have seen online where only a portion of that is available unless you pay for one of the insane Mercedes-Benz subscription services. Could anyone please clarify this for me? Thank you.

I guess the subscription fee is only there if you didn't order the 10 degree upgrading from the 4.5 and wish to subscribe after. Since you said the vehicle already comes equipped with 10 degree, then it should have 10 degree permanently, at least that is what I think.

If you're in the USA, rear-wheel steering subscriptions haven't made their way here yet. It should be 10 degrees of rear steer or none with no way to change this after purchase.

Mercedes' 10 degree rear wheel steering is insane compared with other brands, which typically are only a few degrees.

One other thing which is rarely mentioned is that EQE SUV's lock-to-lock is just 2 turns, the least among all the SUVs I have driven.
Combined with rear wheel steering, this makes the EQE SUV very nimble in the parking lot.

Does anyone know if the 10 degree steering can be enabled by 3rd parties that do coding? I'm considering buying a pretty loaded EQE, but the one option it doesn't have that I want is the 10 degree steering. I have it on my EQS and it makes the car so nimble in parking lots and U-turns. I'm sure it is even better on a smaller car like the EQE. I know Digital LIGHT (DA4) can be enabled via coding

You need to have the hardware. Both our sedan and SUV have rear steering. Our SUV doesn't have digital light, and doesn't have the hardware for it. No way to just code it, as it has the base reflectors installed. Our sedan does have digital light, and it's different hardware.

I believe that the units built without rear steering do not have the rear rack installed, so I don't believe it can be retrofitted after the car is built.
