I was able to activate it in the portal, but it hasn't shown up on the car yet and the Mercedes Store on the car doesn't list it as something "purchased" or available for purchase. Maybe I'm a step closer?

I took my 2024 EQE, with E330 system software, to the dealer and asked for a software update. As suggested, he was reluctant to do so. He told me there was no single s/w update, but that the system had 34 different software modules, all at different levels of revision and that the car would tell me when it needed an update. So I gave him some specific complaints, he relented and they kept the car overnight.
My car came back with E505! Further...
- The CSR corrected himself and said the fob was not linked to a profile.
- If I held the button for a few seconds, not just momentary, the door mounted seat adjustment would adjust the driver's seat before I got into the car.
Driving home, with Lane Keeping and Steering assistance both ON, but Auto Lane Change OFF (I never use this), the speed limit on the dash began to flash. I looked over at the center screen and the Auto Lane Change square in the display was flashing. Above it was a flashing notice that Auto Lane Change was not available. Touching the Auto Lane Change “button” on the screen did nothing. Turning other assistance features on/off did nothing. I finally pulled over and shut down. When I restarted, the speed limit was no longer flashing and I was able to turn OFF Auto Lane Change. It’s possible that Auto Lane Change was ON when I picked up the car and I didn’t notice, though I’m certain that Steering Assistance was OFF.
1. Is there a change log for the various versions anywhere?
2. The app has a "beta" software program. Has anyone ever been in this or received an update through that channel?
I have had no luck getting my dealer to get on the E505 version. Im still on E330…. I took the car in showed them a couple of issues hoping it would lead to a MBUX update, but instead I got module updates (which is fair i guess…i should have been more direct)…What issues did you point to that convinced them to update to E505…and may I ask which nor cal MB dealer you took it to? No worries if not comfortable sharing. I took mine to MB of Pleasanton..thanks!

Try a different dealership and I guess complaint the software is crashing or the android auto doesn't work for example and say you have a friend with such version of which the update fixed it. They need to have an excuse to report back to mothership so they can get paid for the work.
I had my car at the dealer last week, I told them I was getting random lane keep assist and other pop up warnings while driving on my gauge cluster. In addition I told them randomly when starting the car, the default action for swiping would go from favorites back to next channel. All of which was true. They could not reproduce the last part but did update the software to version 505. MB of Escondido.

As was suggested by someone else earlier in this thread, I think you need to complain about a few things with MBUX, that enables them to cite the customer complaint and charge MB for installing the update. You can totally fabricate some problems, give them a few. You could say online music is not working correctly, navigation is taking you on bad routes, fob isn't linked to profile correctly, seats don't adjust correctly, charging not happening as scheduled, etc. Make it up, be vague and persistent.
I took my car to MB of Santa Rosa (aka Smothers European). Two different CSR's had very little understanding of how an EQ with MBUX is supposed to work. In fairness, EQ's are a small percentage of the cars they service.

I have a '21 S580 and assume I have received the update, as evidenced by the new Sound Drive menu item and the navigation route sharing (but it seems to me the route sharing feature has always been there...perhaps it's just been enhanced). I likely received the update a few weeks ago when I had the car in for service and complained that I had never seen a update message in the year+ I have owned the car and updated the maps manually myself. I believe the dealer updated the software at that time. Sound Drive shows as activated on the Mercedes Me digital extras as well. I'm not overly excited about Sound Drive...it's just kind of weird.

I went through the set up routine as indicated on the screen by pushing the link button on the screen and then pushing the correct button on the key fob. When I did this, the exterior lights on the car briefly flashed but there was no other indication on the screen that the pairing had actually taken place. As a result, I am unsure if this feature is actually working and properly set up. Can you tell me if you experienced any feedback on the screen after pushing the button on the key fob? Thank you.

I initially thought the same thing...but when I got to page 29, I changed my mind. Page 29 to the end had some interesting nuggets buried in it about which features became available at certain production dates.

I had to get 2.6.1 installed by the dealer here in the UK on my C300e because the automatic update failed.
The issue I have is the shared navigation option is not there and if I go into my digital extras the option can’t be turned on.

I forgot that you mentioned google maps and waze also has route sharing and works is there a reason why you don't use that? You prefer MB's navigation? If so, fair enough, hopefully another forum member can answer your question.

Apple CarPlay has route sharing and it's great...keep in mind as far as I know you can only use Apple/Android OR the MB route sharing/navigation. They tend to shut each other off when opened at the same time!
