KeylessGo - to recall driver's profile upon entering the vehicle

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused about how Keyless-Go interacts with driver profile recognition on the NTG 7 MBUX system. From what I understand, the system should be able to recognize the driver and automatically recall their profile settings if the key fob has been enrolled via:

MBUX > Profile Settings > Protect Content > Enroll Key

Is that correct?

Also, does the small plastic ignition knob (used with Keyless-Go) play any role in this functionality, or is it purely for push-button start convenience?

Appreciate any insights — just trying to make sure I understand how the system is supposed to work!

Thanks in advance.

As far as i can recall, the above mentioned is correct. The key should lock into the profile. When either my wife or I unlock the vehicle (key dependent) the setting rolls back to last time we were in the vehicle.

On a side note. each profile also has its own seat memory settings. meaning, each key would have 3 presets. so setting your seat setting on key #1 would not transfer to key #2.

Every so often the car gets confused choosing the profile when both of us are in the car with our keys, but that is easily corrected with selecting the correct profile via MBUX.

Something i find annoying, which doesn't make sense to me (unless someone has figured this out), when both my wife and i are in the car, with either profile, car play or the Bluetooth doesn't differentiate based on profile.
it will connect both our phones, even when my profile is activated.
it would be super if the profile also locked in the phone setting for the drivers profile and not profile #2.
annoying when someone is calling / texting my wife and she is in the passenger seat dealing with disconnecting the phone from MBUX so we can listen to music while she is on the phone.

Is there a setting to set first and second priority bluetooth, so it directs all calls and messages tones to first priority while simultaneously connected?

As I understand it, one cannot have TWO devices connected using CarPlay at the same time.
