I find it quite interesting that Europe receives two states of tune with both a 43 and 53 model, but the US only gets the full fat 53, and badged of course as just AMG with no nomenclature. If they are introducing a 43 AMG for Europe, I assume that means no 450 model is planned for the EQE? Hopefully they get 4Matic on the 350 model in the mean time as US buyers will mainly want AWD over RWD.

It would be amusing if the new C 63 gets named the "AMG C-Class".

Historically are AMG's not pricier than non AMG cars?

That will be the ugliest AMG in history.

The only exceptions I can think of is a GLE580 costs more than a GLE43, and the Maybach models cost more than AMG models. But generally yes AMG cars cost more. It's certainly true for EQS, and likely for EQE too.

Sad to say....

I’ve already canceled my Pre-order. After watching some videos, and learning more about all the deficiencies the EQE will have relative to the competition, I quickly lost interest and canceled my pre-order. I put $1000 down at my local dealer so I could get an order started ASAP. Now… I’m not interested.

First. No Heat pump. Really MB? Unbelievable. The EQE isn’t a $20,000 KIA. I thought it would be a “luxury” car from the world’s premier auto manufacture, not a series of disappointing compromises. I’m not going to compromise on something that would so easily & directly impact my enjoyment of the vehicle. So if I want to be comfortable in my new EQE I have to be cold for the first 10 minutes of my drive? No thanks.

Next: No possibility for the Level 3 autonomy systems from the EQS. That’s a huge disappointment. True, Level 3 is not technically available, but.. for MB to just say No, it’s not getting it, is enough for me to cancel. I want something better than the primitive driver’s assistance systems I have in my GLE. (you can tell I’m not happy)

Think about it objectively for a moment. When I remove the emotional component from the evaluation, I hate to admit it, but the EQE doesn’t raise the bar from the competition. It might be more expensive, but it’s not revolutionary. Yes, it has a fancy $8000 screen, but… so what. I’m driving remember. I’m supposed to be paying attention to the road not the hyperscreen. Everything beyond that is all just marketing hype. I have high expectations of MB and the EQE falls short.

Did the dealer tell you the price of the EQE you wanted to order?

No. It hasn't been announced yet. My deposit was just a place holder so I can get a build allocation. The auto writers were speculating $80k, but that would be redecelous.

Oh no, I would not go for that price. $59K is the max I would pay.

Yes!!! I agree. The EQE is not overly powerful, it doesn't have class leading range or batty size, it doesn't have impressive autonomous driving features, it doesn't have E-Active Body control, it doesn't have a heat pump, it doesn't have a sexy new body style, it just has a big Hypescreen for my passengers to enjoy. Other than that... I feel like it's just a check box, and a lot of marketing hype. (Sorry MB)

It is priced like its equivalent E-Class model if $80k, as the E53 runs $77k.

I check the price of the 2022 E 350 on Edmunds, it is $56K. So the EQE should be between $59K to $65K. Other than that, the EQE would be built in the USA eventually.

I believe only the SUV variants will be produced in Alabama. The EQE sedan is to likely remain produced in Bremen.

Oh yes, it makes sense. Since the GLE SUV is made in Alabama, the EQE SUV would be built there. I should say that the EQC sedan would be built in Alabama not EQE.

No sedans will be built in Alabama. SUV's only.

You're welcome. That being said, like someone else mentioned, there is a chance there will be a couple of German made ones entering the country.

To add to the confusion, now Europe gets a EQE 350+ and I think the EQE 500 is confirmed too?
