You have to know the secret handshake to get into the Emerald Green Club. But anywho... I'd like to see an EQ in Solarbeam Yellow or Green Hell Mango but sadly they don't exist. Emerald Green shows every little scratch on the clearcoat just like a black car. I already need a buff.

Posts 17 and 18 show a W222 in emerald green in this thread. It's black in low light situations. I think that it is a very pretty color.

Yes, that's nice. On the other hand, red color on German cars are not attractive ( to me at least). I prefer red color from Japanese cars ( burgundy).

At least through the first 4000 if not 6000 (I'm not saying 3-5 thousand US cars, just all of the cars built within that number that are US spec cars which is probably in the high hundreds or around 1000) were these MB specced cars, showroom units, maybe with a few custom orders slipped in. That was until around March production, maybe early April. Production has now increased rapidly, and a dealer in NY that posts their incoming cars as soon as they get a vin number already has cars with serial numbers in the 17000s incoming. Thise were probably first week of June production. So US cars I've seen in the 9000s, 13000s, 17000s, etc. are where custom orders or dealer orders are being allocated and built up to now. Hope that clears things up.
I see.

Well, after about six months the only two of those five that still impress me are the torque and rear-wheel steering. I'd add the suspension system to the top of the list now though. I've heard some people call it a magic carpet ride but that seems to leave the impression it's boat-like floaty but it not like that at all. It's soft but "one and you're done", as someone else put it. Still, to be honest, I don't think I'll be buying another. The creaky cheap plastic inside and a couple really bad rattles (one fixed by dealer) just kind of ruined the brand for me. Maybe if I had owned a Mercedes in the past I'd have some nostalgic attachment but this was my first one so I don't. I'll keep this one until non-Teslas start appearing with Tesla connectors and then its trade-in time.

I'm seriously considering selling it to Carvana. My new 2024 Jaguar F-Pace SVR instantly felt "familiar" to me. Just the washer controls, for example -- right stalk, pull forward for front and push button for rear -- are driving me nuts. I accidentally pushed the park button at 55 MPH when I got back in the Mercedes. I remembered the button is backwards (push for front window) but my brain just short circuited on the left/right side thing. Shifter is where it's supposed to be on the Jag too. Last time I saw one on the stalk was a F150 truck back in the 1980's so they might as well bring pop-up lights back too while they're at it. Anywho, the Mercedes also game me a new "forward collision avoidance inoperable" message which is like the sixth new one. Seems to be every month like clockwork but never the same error twice and they always go away after a restart. I guess they just want to keep it interesting, I'm to the point where I'm just kind of over it though. Only thing stopping me is the possibility of WW3 breaking out and gas going to $10 a gallon with odd/even plate days for filling up like bck in the late 70s... but anywhosies... :hmm:

These errors can be relatively common on vehicles equipped with 96 GHz radar units, regardless of car brand. The sensors (might) be made by Continental Teves, Valeo, or a similar OEM. In any case, there are repeated cases where a very unexpected RADAR echo comes back to the main unit and cannot be reconciled. Typically around heavy and oddly-angled bridges, concrete structures, or other cases. For the most part, the car is able to use signal processing to filter these events out, but in some rare cases, the system assumes that the possibility of a failure exists and disables the system. It'll come back online in about 5 minutes if you keep driving. The same case happens if your front grille is very dirty or if it's raining very intensely and the RADAR echoes are non-intelligible for too long. Also snow, which is why MB is one of the few (only?) car makers that has heating wires on the long-range RADAR unit. The other two units at the front are 24 or 77 GHz units (not sure which), that must work in concert with the long-range unit. They too can experience theses issues. Honestly doesn't really bug me because it resets quickly. So, if you buy another car brand with RADAR in it, you'll likely encounter the same result over time. Just a thought.

The Lotus Eletre has LIDAR that pops out a lot like, ahem, 80s headlights. :slapself: Whatever float people's boat I guess... it's like all the old boolsheet is new again tho if u ask me (which you didnt but Im gonna tell ya anyways).

I guess my feeble little mind can handle both the Jag and Mercedes but I actually thought I was out of washer fluid and kept pressing the fookin' park button too. Car really made a stooge outta me that day. I got a picture in my head of the car exploding and me sitting there in the middle of the highway holding that stoopid stalk with nothing else but car pieces all around me. I'll be applying for Homer's job at the nuclear plant when it becomes available.

I'd also add the headlights (now that I'm used to the "fangs" moving with the steering wheel) and the glass. Just hit 500 miles on my new Jag and already have a chip on the windshield from a relatively small rock. The Mercedes has taken several audible hits and there's no signs of any damage at all to the glass and no cracking on the headlights, just a couple gouges. I've also changed my mind on the Burmester somewhat. The subwoofer in my feet still sux compared to the system in the 2021 GV80 I traded, which had upward firing subwoofers under both front seats -- which is way more effective and much less annoying than a big one in the trunk, btw. But the tweeters in my Mercedes are equally well located, reflecting off the triangular glass in the front of the window, so I still have full fidelity with the windows rolled down. In any of my other cars the stereo effect gets messed up with just one window rolled down. In my Jag the audio literally sounds monophonic with the driver's window down. So I guess if you listen mostly to classical you might think it's great but if you're into jazz maybe not so much.
