2018 E300 4Matic.
EQE Autopilot features comparison with 2018 E-Class.

I will probably purchase the 2025 EQE 350 4Matic sedan, with its SAE Level 2 Autopilot, to replace my 2018 E-Class that also has Level 2 Autopilot.
I use the Autopilot a lot on the highway, and it satisfies me.
Can the EQE Autopilot system do more things that my E-Class can do?

EQE 500
I have no experience with with the 2018 E Class but my 2023 EQE Sedan is just as good as my previous Tesla Model 3 Autopilot. In fact, there are some features I like more. The EQE has capacitive sensing on the steering wheel so you don't have to nudge the wheel and the system doesn't deactivate if you turn the wheel too much, it just lets you take over temporarily.

2018 E300 4Matic.
EQE 350 nicer than Tesla Model Y.

Thanks.
I've recently tried the EQE 350 4Matic Sedan, and found it way nicer and more pleasurable to drive than the Tesla Model Y that I'd tried the week before.
Plus I don't care for the full self driving offered ($$$) on the Tesla.

The difference is night and day. I had a 2019 W213 (E300 4Matic) with Distronic Plus (I'll use the MB-appropriate terminology here), and while it was a step up from the W212s, the EQE's is just simply incredible. The 2019s also had an upgraded version of Distronic Plus from the 2018s due to a mid-cycle change, so you should see a very significant difference with Distronic in an EQE.

I did have an odd issue that plagued my old E-class where it wouldn't detect yellow lines on the left side of the road. Not sure why. It started happening after I had a windshield replacement. Despite many camera recalibrations, additional windshield replacements, and even a camera module replacement, the issue never was resolved. It just wouldn't do it.

I've had the windshield replaced already twice on my EQE, and have never had any issues with Distronic Active Steering Assist, the cameras, or anything else. All I can say is, it's a superb system. Even the visualizations (Assistance Graphic) looks way better! You won't be disappointed, guaranteed!

The Mercedes system is very good.
However, disappointingly, it cannot do some of things that my 5 year old BMW X5 could.
My 2024 EQE SUV still does not have driver's camera. One user reported that AMG model has driver's camera, and the user manual showed one. It allows you to take the hands off the steering wheel much longer than the system without one.
And Mercedes still does not have total hands off mode.
