EQE 350 4Matic Sedan and SUV
Limited to No Software Updates
Hi!
I have had my 2023 EQE 350 Sedan and 2023 EQE 350 SUV for about 16 months and in that time, each vehicle has only had 1 software update along with some minimal updates to in-car apps. Does anyone else feel frustrated at the lack of on-going software updates? My friends with Teslas, Rivians, and even BMWs get software updates all the time all aimed at improving the driving experience.
I asked my dealership to update my software but they told me they couldn't as each model (300, 350, 500, AMG), type (Sedan, SUV), and year determine the software and not all software is available to all models. Very frustrating. For instance, I'd like the ability to pair my profile with my key. This was something I saw in a 2024 loaner.
Just asking to see if anyone else if frustrated with the lack of updates.

Yes and no. Does the car still work as purchased and expected? Yes. Does MB have a reputation for being slow to update? Yes. Would miren updates be nice? Yes. Do I want broken updates? No. So, it all depends on your perspective.

Yes, it's pretty annoying. I know ours is running a really old software version. People here on the forum have mentioned being on much newer builds. I've only very recently gotten 2 updates (first ever) and they were for communication modules. I wish they all updated OTA more similarly to Tesla and Rivian vehicles.

Some updates needs to be performed using XENTRY due to size and if it affects safety systems, OTA updates usually (not always) are about small patches. There are some version updates such as that MBUX 2.1 feature updates and Fresh Up updates but in general, it is best to check with your dealership for newer updates.

Might not be a bad idea now if they're discontinuing the model. Just to get as many things fixed before they stop fixing things and move on to something new.
