Chinease EQE

I recently imported a Mercedes EQE 500 from China, and I’m facing an issue with the in-car eSIM. The car is still connected to the previous owner’s (Chinese) profile, and to delete that profile, the vehicle needs to be connected through the eSIM. I need to activate the eSIM with a new profile here in the UAE so I can remove the old profile and set up my own. If anyone has dealt with this before or knows a reliable third-party solution, I’d really appreciate your help!

There have been several other similar threads and unfortunately you are pretty much out of luck. Mercedes will not provision the eSIM for a market other than the original market the vehicle was sold in. You will not be able to use any of the Mercedes me features in the UAE with a vehicle that wasn't originally sold in the UAE. To remove the previous owners profile, you'd have to take it back to a Chinese dealer. This should have essentially been done before the vehicle was exported. Third-party coders can change regions and stuff in the vehicles, but when it comes to the eSIM, that's controlled by the Mercedes servers and the only one that can provision the eSIM is Mercedes themselves and they won't do it.

EDIT: Actually what you can do is go into the System settings and perform a factory reset/erase all user data. That will at least erase all the data from the previous owner including their profile actually.

Are you sure the factory reset will delete the old profile?!

Yes, I've done it before myself to clean slate. It deletes all user data on the system and resets everything back to the default guest profile.

As @superswiss already stated "Mercedes will not provision the eSIM for a market other than the original market the vehicle was sold in. The former owner is registered into MB server not in car user profiles.

Maybe you can ask your local dealer to delete the former owner, but you will not be registered.
