EQS Performance Upgrades

Did anyone see these EQS Performance Upgrade subscriptions?

Seems like nothing for the 580 unfortunately.

$1200 a year for a 1 second decrease 0-60mph. Yes please! 😂 (I don't like the principle of this being a subscription, but I'd like some more speed, and this is way cheaper than having bought a 580, so I'm gonna do it for at least 1 year)

Let us know how it goes. I have to say the 450AWD with Perf Upgrade is in the sweet spot of performance from my point of view. I always felt the standard acceleration while okay for a normal SUV was a bit subpar for an EV SUV.

I would pay $2000 one time to get the upgrade, but hate the idea of buying a $1200/yr subscription.

These subscriptions need to die fast.

Mercedes will adjust their strategies once they know how much (or how little) revenue subscriptions are bringing in. I paid the one time fee for the Dash Cam but feel they are taking advantage of customers since everything is already in the vehicle and they're charging you a fee to unlock the software. A vehicle costing $136K shouldn't require nickel and dime subscriptions. Leave that to Tesla and other auto companies.

I think that paying one time fees to unlock things on the car is reasonable. Paying subscription fees for "services" like the online connection etc makes sense also. Paying a subscription for things that are not a service like this performance upgrade does not make sense to me.

Specifically on the dashcam that is an option when you purchase the car. They are charging the same to "add" the feature if you did not order the car with the option so thats fair IMO.

What was your impression of the dash cam? Can you describe some of its features?

The videos are 2 minutes in length and are recorded in HD. The interface on the center screen works well to replay the videos and they look good. I purchased a 512 GB USB-C flash drive that I plugged into an open port in the center armrest area so I can store an almost endless history of videos. I have it configured to record every time I move the car.
