Can I manually pre-condition the battery before fast charging?
I don’t have any EA fast chargers in my local area. I tried using a FreeWire Boost DC Fast Charger today but since it doesn’t show on the Navi the car wouldn’t pre-condition the battery while enroute. The charging session only last a minute or so before it faulted out.
It's not clear to me how many miles prior to reaching a charging station known to the Navigation system that the car will start to heat up the battery in preparation for the charging session. It may be possible to select a charging station known to the car that is 20 or 30 miles away. You can verify that the battery temperature is increasing by checking the kW rate in the "EQ" pop up screen. Then instead of heading to the station selected in the Nav system drive to the Freewire Boost location.
I was able to do this in the Taycan while parked in my drive.
