Roof rack?

For bikes, I have mounts for the roof rack as well, but obviously it's hard to load heavy mountain bikes on the roof. I believe there is a factory trailer hitch available for the 2-row EQS. You should be able to get it added at the dealership. I'm also assuming some third party companies will release aftermarket trailer hitches shortly if they aren't already available.

Pictures of the Thule rack. Easy enough to install. Took about 30 minutes. They attach to the factory mounts that are concealed under little plastic covers. Looks nice.

We have a Thule Vector Alpine for our skis. I'll be using it this winter and get more data on the range impact.

I know it is in Swedish, but with Google Translate you get the grip of it. In short, on Hyundai Ioniq 5 (equalent to perhaps EQC) at 110 km/h (68 mph), the electricity consumption was
Thus, 23% increase with roof box.
Interestingly, they also tested the roof box the other way around, i.e. the fat part facing forwards, which had lower consumption than normal installation. This makes sense, as the tear drop shape is also found on airplane wings etc.
- 22.9 kWh / 100 km without anything on the roof
- 24.0 kWh / 100 km with roof rails (takbagar)
- 28.1 kWh / 100 km with roof box (takbox)
Thus, 23% increase with roof box.

We have a roof top tent and have talked about it. My only concern is Thule says 160lbs maximum for their rack. Our tent weighs 125lbs, but add in two adults and a kid, and we are easily at 500lbs. I'm not sure if their rating is simply for the max load while driving, versus a higher load while parked. Someone would need to check with Mercedes or Thule to verify.

I'm planning on using our Thule roof rack for skis. We have a Thule Vector Alpine roof box. I'll post some pictures once installed.

Could you please confirm whether the sunroof can still open? I’m a bit worried if I accidentally swipe open it the glass would be damaged.
