I'm still waiting. Kind of pissed honestly. It's an SUV that needs a roof rack and trailer hitch (unavailable with the third row). As a result, so far our EQS is more of a minivan.
We use the roof rack for carrying skis in a roof box. Every SUV I've ever owned had roof racks available immediately from the factory. I was told Thule was developing a roof rack for the EQS SUV and there are mounting points for install. But nothing yet.
I wanted the trailer hitch for a bike rack, but supposedly Mercedes is developing a frame mounted bike rack for the three row version that doesn't require the trailer hitch. Who knows when that will be available if ever.
If the roof rack isn't available by next ski season we may be trading for a different vehicle. We had a Tesla Model X previously and one of the biggest complaints was the Falcon doors prevented the use of a roof rack. And now the EQS is no better. We are getting by this ski season without using the EQS, but next year will be a different story.

My issues exactly. We have three row so no trailer hitch. Need space for skis, poles, boots, helmets and all the goodies for ski trips. I am tempted to try using the seasucker mounts until the roof rack comes available but not sure I would put a roof box on the seasucker bars. Maybe just for the skis.
It’s amazing that MB didn’t have their engineers draw up a roof rack a long time ago when the EQS was being developed. I always keep mine in the “Comfort” mode or what ever it is called but noticed when you change to one of the other modes there is a warning about using a roof rack so they know some folks will be using a rack at some point.
The Thule UK site now shows a rack available for the EQS SUV. It shows currently out of stock, but I'm tempted to find a way to order one from Europe if they don't offer one in the US soon.
The Thule US site doesn't show the EQS Sedan for example but the UK site has shown the Sedan for a while. So it appears they are targeting Europe first.

Since Thule is a Swedish company, I thought I'd have a look at their local website. https://www.thule.com/sv-se/ (It could be that you will need to use a VPN to see this info from your location?)
It indicates that the expected availability for this part is April 11th.
I went through the checkout process a bit with another (available) part to see if they would ship abroad and, it appears not -- at least for website orders. I think they primarily like to deal through resellers.
My point in replying here is to give you the "April 11th" date so you know that this part is really likely to exist in the near future.
Excited to see progress! The Thule instructions posted seem to have a warning about going over 50mph. That’s worrisome.
It's 80mph max. The 50mph max applies to carrying a large load that overhangs the front roof line. They show the same limits for all of their roof racks. Probably for legal reasons.
I regularly drove 80mph+ in my Audi E-tron with a Thule roof rack and a large roof box.
came here hoping for some info on this as well. Lack of a roof rack is a deal breaker for adding a second eqs suv to the fam. After driving our new 450+ suv I want a 580 of my own but I need to haul stinky hockey gear for longer trips. For those worried about height, you can get little steps that fit into your car door metal hook so you can get plenty of access above. Those things are rated for a lot more weight than you're going to be.
Thule Europe now shows their rack in stock, but I can't get it shipped to the US. I'm working with a few vendors to see if they can order the track or get Thule to expedite offering the rack in the US.

Roof boxes or any roof transportation adversely affect range.
That's why their electric platform SUVs do not come with roof rails as opposed to their ICE SUV.
I think that part is obvious, but sometimes you need to sacrifice the range for practical needs. Removable crossbars can be attached with a cargo carrier when needed.
I went to a rack shop in Seattle this past weekend. They carry Thule, Yakima, etc and do custom installs. They found the Thule parts for my EQS 450 SUV but online they showed discontinued when they tried to order them. They talked the Thule rep,, who said there were none available and they are waiting for it to be "certified" in the US, even though Europe has tougher standards. So it seems we are still waiting for someone to have a rack in the States.
Inno (Japanese brand) rack might work. Very customizable.
Their aero bars come on and off in about 3-4min. When it's that easy, you're much more likely to remove them for better aero and no wind noise.
It just means they haven't measured it out. If you order from a place with free returns, you can order several different sizes and pick the length bars that fit the best. I have a GLE so unsure if my measurements will fit an EQS.
Hey all. So I have successfully installed a set of Thule racks on my EQS SUV. I used a set of Aerobars and a fit kit from Ebay UK and a fit kit that fits other Mercedes sedans with the same style roof mounting points. The fit is not perfect but it is very secure and I've had my bikes up there for over 100 miles with no problems.

interested in transporting skis and e-bikes on my two-row EQS SUV. Is there a hitch system or roof rack owners have purchased which fit these purposes? Last I checked there was no trailer hitch available. Please provide links. Thanks.
