I just bought a month subscription which came with the first month free so $90 for 2 months. Fine by me. I hopped in the car to see if it said anything and it did confirm on the screen that the acceleration increase has been activated. I look forward to trying it out later.

At least they offer permanent activation as an option. That takes some of the sting out of the subscription model for those intending to keep their cars a long time.

Although I am still against this but since you already bought there I will not be interested in raining on your parade, please share your positive (and if any negative experience) of it once you do have a chance to try it out.

Thank you, I respect that

I just realized I never actually got charged, it really is a one month free trial. I'll only get charged if I don't cancel and roll into month 2. That was a nice surprise. I was fully expecting to have paid $90 today with access for 2 months.

From what I read it is not available to the 580 sedan or SUV. I find the whole thing ridiculously over priced. I don't expect this will go anywhere but they're testing the market. Just my two cents.

I believe this upgrade unlocks the 450 4Matic to be on par with the 580. Same motors, only the 450 4Matic is locked in a lower performance mode.

Just took it out for a quick drive. It’s a little hard to notice the difference. Power delivery is so smooth already and is still smooth after so it doesn’t “feel” all that different. I think the power is most improved in the mid and top end, like when you’re cruising at ~60 and then hit the accelerator. I pulled away much more quickly from the car behind me than I used to. This is where I noticed the biggest difference I’d say.

Overall, I’ll need more seat time to get a better sense of it but it might not be necessary in this type of car. I’ll definitely need to use my free month trial to see if it’s worth keeping going forward.

I think the noticeable difference would be the 0-60 acceleration. The 450 4Matic is rated at 5.8 seconds and the 580 4Matic is rated at 4.5 seconds. The unlock should bring the 450 on par with the 580.

Not sure if you are into this type of thing but do you want to do a 0-60 measurement for us but then since you didn't do one prior to the acceleration increase you can't compare it so I guess nevermind

I hope the majority of EQ owners protest this nonsense or before long we'll have to pay MB to raise the sound system volume past 25%.

they would not get a dime out of me for something I already paid for... all that ppl are doing is rewarding bad behavior, just like paying over MSRP... a fool and his money.

I guess in the case of forum member QuadBenz, that should cancel the subscription the moment trial expires or a day or so before which automatically "consider?" as feedback to Mercedes that the feature wasn't worth it.
