not sure why CR has been constantly hating on Mercedes this year, they ranked them at 20th? place of the most reliable car brands.

Some of the statements made are just plain stupid. Ambient lighting so bright that pulses on and off is distracting to the driver? How about turning the brightness down or turn it off completely. The SUV was bouncy when I crossed a intersection too fast? How about driving the speed limit or turning on sports mode to adjust the ride. I can’t believe these guys get paid for some of this….

As to the reliability data, it isn't CR that ranks them. This is data from MB owners and CR just reports the results of the survey.

I've subscribed to Consumer Reports since the 1980's They do a good job reviewing stuff, but their car reviews are geared toward assuming everyone wants a cheap, super efficient car that will never break, and won't cost much money over time in service and depreciation. I did not watch the entire video, but can imagine what they said based on reading their reviews every month. Those of us buying an EQS will just have a different set of priorities over buying their ideal vehicle, such as a Prius or Lexus. It is not all about maximizing value for the dollar--I think most of us know buying a $145,000 car is a terrible 'investment', but one which we're willing to make to have an awesome car. If the CR base case was my goal, I indeed would be driving a Prius or Honda Pilot.
