No Remote Start Functionality?
I'm coming from a Mustang Mach-E where the FordPass app dedicated two different functions for remote starting the vehicle and preconditioning the vehicle. Remote start could be done at the spur of the moment where as preconditioning required setting a departure time. I see in the Mercedes me connect app that you can manually begin preconditioning...so did Mercedes take the approach of having both on-demand and scheduled preconditioning? In the Mach-E remote start would behave differently in that it would turn on the car and that was pretty much it, the HVAC would be based upon the last settings. Preconditioning began to condition the battery along with HVAC and other systems. Just wondering what everyone does when it's a chilly morning and you're about to head to work (which isn't on a set schedule anymore.)

Preconditioning on my 580 SUV is only manual by the app, only preconditions the interior space by the last setting, and does nothing to precondition the battery. I will use it mostly on Summer days here when temperatures are 90-100F+ while at the grocery store, Doctor’s appointments etc. 5-10 minutes before I leave on goes the AC! 😊

If you tell the EQS to plot a route on the map to a Electrify America charging site it will precondition the battery while you drive there. Manually, I have not read of any option. Kind of a screwy set up in my humble opinion.
At this time, at least on the EQS SUV, there is no way to heat the batteries to precondition in cold weather. I have read this will be added to the ‘2024 builds forward.

Should be, I mean Germany it is probably illegal to remote start due to emissions hence why the feature (may?) not be there and being a German car brand like MB they didn't have it for that reason but that is not an excuse whatsoever since the EQS SUV is an electric vehicle. It is even not an excuse when some German competitors also offer it and some also offer it directly from the keyfob.
