Happy With Tire Rotation at Discount Tire….

I have 6K miles on my 580 SUV with Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics (Gen 5) with 21” rims so I decided to get a free rotation at my local Discount Tire today. These Summer tires are wearing faster than I would like but it is what it is. The fronts are 6/32” and rear tires 5/32” already. Wondering if the rear wheel steering is causing the uneven wear from front to back. I watched them remove and reinstall using a battery powered wrench and wondered how they knew the torque as the batteries on the wrench ran down. Was impressed that one fellow did the final torque with a old fashioned torque wrench. I really like how smooth these tires have been so far but once worn out will look at options that might get some better mileage.

It is always nice to find someone that cares and take pride of their work. Thank the little fellow for doing it right , you sure the torque value is correct right?

Yes, I always check afterwards. 111 pounds on the EQS SUV. I still perform all my tire rotations on my other vehicles but on my F250 and the EQS figure they are too heavy for me to manhandle the tires at my age. It’s one thing only taking off one tire but when you are rotating and taking off multiples at one time it’s a whole different situation.

Fair enough, glad the fella torqued your wheels and did it correctly

Close enough. I don’t know how MB came up with 111 pounds. Guess my torque wrench is too old fashioned to be that accurate. If I’m within 5 it’s ok. I don’t think most folks can break loose a lug nut by hand anyway at that figure if they have a flat on the road. Time to call AAA.😊

They came up with 150 Newton Meters which converts to 110.6 foot pounds then rounded to 111.

I recently purchased this Trac Tire Jack from JMC Automotive. Combined with an M14x1.5 wheel hanger, it makes changing the EQS SUV 86 pound wheels+tires very easy.

I have something similar to move and mount the tires. My concern is taking a vehicle this heavy and jacking up one whole side at a time. I have a heavy duty floor Jack and two ton jack stands but all my older vehicles weight 900 pounds to 2,000 pounds. A SUV at 6,400 pounds and truck at 8,000 pounds is a different matter.

I see, ya never occurred to me, just for reference my W205 C 43 is 96, the E 450 coupe is 110 I think or also 111 but it was a double digit number for sure.

okay never mind, it was definitely 150 newton meters so it is also 111 for the e450 coupe.

You definitely need two floor jacks or jack stands like those at https://jackpointjackstands.com/ to rotate the tires.
