After 20K miles and no door dings I decided to add some body side molding. I found some USA made paint-to-order molding at Sportwing located in Cleveland, OH.
I used a 2.5" wide scrap of foam backed vinyl floor plank as a straight edge to keep the front and rear molding pieces aligned. The guide is taped and held in place with three flexible sticks. I closed a small thin piece of wood between the doors and used a tie wrap to secure the center section of the guide.
The color on the molding is not a perfect match to the Diamond White Metallic paint, but it is close enough.
Guide braced against doors.
Tie wrap secures center of guide. 3rd brace added before installing molding.
