Plug and charge no longer works :(

One year old 580 suv. Plug and charge worked like a charm so far (if I can find an available and working EA charger &#128514

. It stopped working last week - station shows an account set up error !

Anyone else having this issue ? I called EA and they set me up with a one time comp session but super annoying that plug and charge is not working.

Try calling Mercedes-Benz assistance (from the car). They helped me when I initially had trouble setting up my account for charging.

I had the same problem with the EA chargers in Sterling, VA earlier this month. One charger was "unavailable" and Plug&Charge would not work on the other three chargers. Spent a long time on hold and the call center required a lot of details before requesting permission from a supervisor to comp the session. The only other time I called EA to initiate a charging session was in Iowa earlier this year. In that case the support rep was empowered to comp the session without getting management approval. Have not used EA since the Sterling session so it will be interesting to see how the next charge goes. My Mercedes me account transitions to year two next week. I renewed the service for $150, but I would not be surprised if there is an issue which interrupts the service.

Update 6-Nov-2023: Plug & Charge worked as expected at EA in Providence, RI this past weekend. Also, confirmed that 30-min limit for free charges is now being enforced.

This happened to me on our trip from PA to SC at an EA charging station. I called the support number and the rep rebooted the station remotely and then I was able to Plug & Charge. EA's infrastructure is not great and needs lots of improvement. That is why I'll personally be happy when MB officially switches to NACS and provides an adapter that allows me to use Tesla Superchargers when traveling.
