EQS450+ DashCam

Hi, new to forum, just received my EQS and had a question about the dash cam. I did not order it when I built the car, but in the MercedesMe app, it has it listed for $200 to purchase. Does that mean the forward facing camera is installed just not activated, and if I buy the $200 dash cam feature it will become activated over the air sand an icon will appear that operates this feature? A salesperson said no, but had no explanation why it is an option for me.

Does anyone have correct info, or has faced the same pitch and ordered the dash cam after the fact and got it working? really appreciate the help, looking forward to being a constructive member on this forum.

The camera is installed. When you pay for the software it will be over the air turned on. Mine took about one day.

Not exactly, all forward-facing cameras are already activated and working. However, the dashcam specifically uses the AR (augmented reality) camera, which is optional on the EQE series anyways, so that's why some EQ EV owners can't activate it through the app. So the correct answer is you have to have the HD AR camera in the windshield, not just the forward-facing parking camera in the grille.

Thanks, going to give it a try. Will pay the $200 and if that doesn't do it, I'll cancel charge.

Camera already installed Dash cam is software option

If you have the dashcam as an option in the store, then your vehicle should be compatible.

I haver activated it, after the fact, in my EQS AND GLE 450e. No issues.
